As promised, we'd like to highlight our Ultimate Warriors and those that have received your blankets. Please be sure to keep your blanket recipient nominations coming!

  • Our first Warrior is Marianne, diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer at the age of 59.  11 days after date of diagnosis, her family was told she had 3 days to live. Marianne fought back and lived for another 11 months!  There was no stopping her.  She was the proud mother of two and grandmother of 3.  Her world revolved around her kids. MaMar is an inspiration for so many, including me. She taught me the most valuable lessons of life; love with your whole heart, always be loyal, sacrifice for the ones you love, and be the pillar of strength in times of strife and sorrow. Thank you Ma for always being my pillar of strength and inspiring me to do what I am doing today. You will live forever in the hearts of so many and your fighting spirit will be passed to people around the world.

These additional Warriors have been recipients of our Chemo Crochet blankets.

  • Maryanne, 53, diagnosed with colon cancer. She goes to treatment, looks around and feels guilty because she is surrounded by so many who do not have her same positive prognosis.  Here is a person who is fighting for her life, but feels guilty because she will live.  She does not realize that she is an inspiration for some who look at her and think "I can do this too!"  Maryanne did not feel that she deserved a blanket from the Pink Warriors because she knows she will get better.  She remains a selfless person in the face of cancer.  Fight for yourself, Maryanne,  so that one day you can say, "I'm a survivor!" and others fighting will look to you for strength, inspiration, and support.
  • Carrie, a 31 year old, who is battling breast cancer for the second time.  She has been through a lot in such a short period of time but always maintains a positive attitude.  She spends her days giving her love to those without a voice, her animals.  She finds her strength in her amazing support system.  As she faces what her next treatment will  be, she remains firm in the fact that she can and will beat this again.  Go Carrie!!  We are with you girl!
  • Phyllis, a 52 year old mother of four and proud grandmother of four, diagnosed with a glioma stage 4 brain tumor in October.  After 6 weeks of radiation and chemo, has been experiencing some significant seizures, resulting in the loss of mobility to her right leg.    Although, overall optimistic at this stage, she is feeling a bit discouraged due to her limitations, fatigue, and regression.  Phyllis is loved by so many and we are supporting her all of the way.  Keep the blanket close and when you feel like the world is holding you down, know that there are people who are pulling for you.  We are your warriors.  Keep fighting, Phyllis!
  • Tom, diagnosed with rectal cancer, just recently had his first chemo treatment.  He is the proud grandfather of six ranging in ages from high school to second grade.  He is ready and willing to take on this journey for his family.  We are thinking of you, Tom.  Us warriors near and far are supporting you.   Stay strong!
