As the word is spreading about Project Chemo Crochet, not only have we received MANY squares, we have also received more blanket nominations. I am happy to report that with the many donations of squares, we are able to send blankets to these brave individuals who are battling cancer day in and day out. Please nominate your loved one and share his/her story.

Meet our latest blanket recipients. They are our ULTIMATE WARRIORS for whom we are fighting.

Jessica, 25 years old from Rhode Island, was diagnosed Thanksgiving week 2012 with ovarian cancer.  She has had to endure a very extensive surgery to remove the cancer and has had a very painful recovery thus far.  Since she was diagnosed, she has not had very many "good" days.  She has been and currently is in the hospital with a very painful episode of scar tissue inflammation.  Jessy has a great strong spirit and will pull through this battle.  We are sending her extra love and support with a blanket today.

Maureen, mother of two, has been battling breast cancer for the majority of her teenage children's lives.  Last week Maureen reached the 4 year mark battling breast cancer for the second time, except this time as stage 4.  She is a dedicated mother and wife living every day to be with her family.  She pushes herself to the limits to make sure that the lives surrounding her are as "normal" as possible.  Maureen is an inspiration to so many, especially her daughter and son.  Rest your body underneath the warmth and strength of your blanket.  We are fighting for you.

Mary was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer a few months ago.  Mia nominated Mary for a blanket saying, "She is such a loving and caring person. I have known Mary since I was a baby and she is always there for me. I’m not related to her but; she always makes me feel like I’m part of her family. She has been fighting Bone Marrow Cancer for a few months now but throughout her treatments and the whole situation she never gives up. She always has a smile on her face and remains positive. Mary is very inspiring to me and she has taught me to never give up in any situation."  Keep up the great work, Mary!
